If there’s one skincare thing I wish I would have known in my younger years, it would be the importance of SPF! I spent most of my teenage and early 20’s basking in the sun, getting as tan as I possibly could. I went to college in Arizona, so there was no shortage of sunshine. I even went to a tanning bed on more than one occasion. YUCK! Oh, I just cringe thinking about it now…
And during all this sun worshipping…I NEVER WORE SUNSCREEN!
What was I thinking?!?!
Well, when I started noticing sun damage in my late 20’s, that all changed drastically. Now, I protect my face from the sun EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Even if it’s cloudy…
This is the #1 Anti-aging secret! Wear sunscreen!
So needless to say, I must wear SPF every day! I love how a tinted moisturizer can be super light, but help even out my skin. It’s a great solution when I don’t really want to wear makeup, but I still want my skin to look good. I love the idea of combining three different steps into one (*makeup*moisturizer*SPF*).
Last year I randomly stumbled upon this AMAZING tinted moisturizer cream from Ulta. I started using it and NO JOKE my skin was GLOWING every single day. It didn’t make me breakout and it was so easy to apply. I started wearing it all the time. Until I took a closer look at the label…
Ugh. Sad.
So here we go again, time to find a more natural replacement. I’m sorry to say, I’m still searching here…
BUT, here’s one I tried so far! Unfortunately, it just didn’t do it for me…
This is a medium coverage tinted moisturizer with SPF. It’s the perfect amount of protection with SPF 30 and the protection comes from ZINC, not gross sunscreen chemicals that we so often see in these type of products.
It’s kind of a mix between makeup and skincare. It has some fantastic ingredients to hydrate and brighten skin. But, it also offers pretty great coverage overall with natural pigments.
It also claims to boost collaged with an “advanced bio-peptide complex.”
Some of the standout ingredients:
Zinc: SPF 30 – the best form of sunscreen.
Coconut: It’s oh so hydrating. Hello smooth skin!
Broccoli seed oil: Thanks to the fatty acids, this is incredibly moisturizing for your skin. It also helps protect the skin against UV damage.
Pomegranate: Full of antioxidants, it can help reduce cell damage and increase cell regeneration. Bye bye wrinkles and age spots!
Algae extracts: Brightens skins and fights hyper-pigmentation. Bye bye acne scars and dark circles!
It feels thick and creamy on my skin. It takes a bit of work to blend it in.
There are so many things I love about Well People. Unfortunately, this tinted moisturizer just isn’t one of them.
There are some things I like about this product. It’s full of some amazing ingredients that are actually good for your skin. The SPF keeps me nice and protected from the sun. It does a great job smoothing out my skin. It feels (and looks) more like a thick foundation than a moisturizer. It doesn’t make me breakout.
There are also some things I don’t like about this product…
Well People, I really wish this smelled better. It does get better after few minutes, but it doesn’t seem to ever fully go away until I wash my face.
Why are there only 4 shades available? The one I have is ok, but it’s not a perfect match for my skin. I feel like it leaves a slight reddish hue to my skin. I usually end up putting something else on top of it to tone it down…which defeats the whole purpose of a tinted moisturizer in the first place.
If Well People could add more colors and tone down the smell, I would be excited to try this product again.
Please, Well People, please!!!
Pro-tip: Blend it all the way down your neck to avoid a weird chin line.
